Welcome to the Asien-Afrika-Institut of the Universität Hamburg, the largest centre for Asia- and Africa-Sciences in Germany.
The Asia- and Africa-Sciences in Hamburg can look back to a more than 100-year long history starting with the founding of the "Kolonialinstitut" in the year 1908.
Study

Research
The focus in research at the Asien-Afrika-Institut is about the geographic area from the West of Africa to Indonesia. The focuses are the history and nowadays language, culture, society and economy.
