PI joins MEM board

At the business meeting of the Middle East Medievalists (MEM) in November 2023, our PI
Hannah-Lena Hagemann was elected to serve on the MEM board for the 2024-2026 term. MEM
is an international non-profit association of scholars interested in all aspects of the history of the
medieval Middle East, including all geographies with prominent Muslim political, religious, or
social presences between approximately 500-1500 CE. MEM seeks to facilitate and promote
exchange among scholars of the medieval Middle East and to increase the visibility of medieval
Middle Eastern history in academic and other professional contexts. Hannah is excited to join
the board and help further MEM’s aims and concerns.
