SCORE at IMC (Leeds)

The SCORE team organised two panels for the International Medieval Congress (IMC) at Leeds, which took place from 1-4 July 2024. The well-attended panels, on Rebellion as Crisis Response?, featured presentations by all SCORE team members as well four wonderful colleagues from the fields of history, late antiquity, and early Islamic Studies: Alexander Sarantis (Mainz), Noëmie Lucas (Edinburgh), Rob Haug (Cincinnati), and Eric Hanne (Florida Atlantic University).  The panels asked to what degree rebellion was a normative element of political culture and/or a product of crisis, investigating whether a common culture of rebellion could be observed across the early Islamicate and neighbouring Christian societies. The panel abstract and line-ups can be viewed here: https://imc-
