Biennial International Colloquium on the Chadic Languages (BICCL)

The international symposium ‘Biennial International Colloquium on the Chadic Languages (BICCL)’ is the only academic event worldwide dedicated to Chadic languages and culture contact in the historical area of Lake Chad. Since 2001, the BICCL founding executive committee, Dymitr Ibriszimow (University of Bayreuth), Henry Tourneux (LLACAN/CNRS-INALCO) and H. Ekkehard Wolff (University of Leipzig) organised this academic meeting alternatingly at universities and research institutes in Paris, Leipzig, Bayreuth and Hamburg. In September 2017 the executive committee passed the baton to Henning Schreiber (Universität Hamburg), Yvonne Treis (LLACAN/CNRS-INALCO) and Georg Ziegelmeyer (University of Vienna), who are responsible for the upcoming 10th BICCL at Universität Hamburg.

Le Colloque International Bisannuel sur les Langues Tchadiques (BICCL) est le seul événement académique au monde consacré aux langues et à la culture tchadiques dans la région historique du Lac Tchad. Depuis 2001, le comité exécutif fondateur du BICCL, Dymitr Ibriszimow (Université de Bayreuth), Henry Tourneux (LLACAN / CNRS-INALCO) et H. Ekkehard Wolff (Université de Leipzig) ont organisé cette rencontre en alternance dans des universités et des centres de recherche à Paris, Leipzig, Bayreuth et Hambourg. En septembre 2017, le comité exécutif du BICCL a passé le relais à Henning Schreiber (Université d’Hambourg), Yvonne Treis (LLACAN / CNRS-INALCO) et Georg Ziegelmeyer (Université de Vienne), qui sont les responsables de l’organisation du 10e BICCL à l'Université d’Hambourg.
