Lectures at Hagiography Conference

Several BeInf team members took part in the international workshop “Ethiopic Hagiographic Literature: Manuscript Tradition, Textual Transmission, Motifs, and Use” at the University of Hamburg on 8-9 October. Sophia Dege-Müller gave a talk “The Beta ʾƎsrāʾel in Ethiopic Hagiographies”, Martina Ambu a talk “Holy Nuns in Medieval Ethiopia: three Gadlāt in Comparison”, and Aaron Butts a talk “The Linguistic Turn and the Study of Hagiography: A Fruitful Methodological Approach for Ethiopian and Eritrean Studies”.
