16. Juni 2017, von AAI Webmaster
Following successful conferences on Korean Screen Culture held at SOAS, the University of London (2012 & 2013), Sheffield Hallam University (2014), the University of Copenhagen (2015), and King’s College (2016), the Asien-Afrika-Institut at Universität Hamburg was pleased to host the 6th Korean Screen Culture Conference in collaboration with the Korea Foundation and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hamburg.
We welcomed Professor Hye Seung Chung (Colorado State University) as keynote speaker.
The conference aimed to critically engage with some of the most important issues that have affected contemporary Korean screen culture; particularly cinema, television, web comics and music videos. We welcome proposals for papers and panels on all aspects of Korean screen culture, South and North Korean cinema past and present, video games, production, distribution & reception of film, television, K-pop music videos, also the transnational and intermedial aesthetics of Korean screen culture such as the impacts of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), transnational and intermedial adaptations, co-productions, collaborations, and various intermedia practices.
