About the department

Welcome

to the Department of Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia at the Asia-Africa Institute at the University of Hamburg. Four professors, three lecturers and several research assistants and other lecturers create synergies between research and teaching on the cultures of Southeast Asia, with a focus on languages and literatures. Regular classes are offered in Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese language.
