Student council
What is the Council of Student Representatives (FSR)?
The constituted student body, to which all students of the University of Hamburg belong, is divided into several organizational units, including the student councils. These are are tools for student self-administration.
The students of the faculty elect the Council of Student Representatives (FSR) once or twice a year at a general student assembly. This is the elected representative for all students in a subject. He represents the interests of "his" student council, not only vis-à-vis the department and faculty, but also vis-à-vis the university and the VS. Every FSR is entitled to VS money for their work.
Further information on university policy or on academic and student self-administration at the university can be found on the website of the General Student Committee (AStA).
What is the work of the FSR like?
We, the FSR, are active in university politics. We provide representatives in various committees, such as the faculty and institute council, to stand up for your interests. We also organize various activities, such as the annual Christmas party, to give you the opportunity to better network and exchange ideas with your fellow students. We are also there for you if you have any questions or problems with your studies at our department.
You are welcome to contact "your" FSR at the following email addresses:
