We are delighted that you join our department. Find here some information for a good start into your first semester.

We are delighted that you will soon be studying at our University and look forward to meeting you.

You have been accepted to the University, but there is still much to do! The PIASTA Tutoring Team of the Department of International Affairs has compiled a to do list which gives an overview of things you might need to take care of and explanations on how to do so. 

PIASTA also organises a Welcome Week (both online and in person) from March 21 - 24, 2022. The programme includes 

• Information sessions
• Campus tours
• Social activicties
• City tours

For more information and to register for the Welcome Week's activities, please refer to UHH Join. Use your new Universität Hamburg username to register or, if you have not received your username yet, any email address. 

PIASTA also offers a Welcome Buddy Programme in which students who know their way around the city, the campus, and the University offer their support to help you through your first semester. You can register for the programme here. 

Apart from that, the Department of International Affairs offers advise to international students on any questions regarding their stay in Hamburg, for example on how to apply for a residence permit. To get advise, please contact international.student.support"AT"uni-hamburg.de.
