The Hamburg Society for Thai Studies and the Department for Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia invite you to an online lecture on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 14:00 CEST.
The Thai Forest Meditation Tradition was first initiated during the 1900s by Venerable Luang Pu Sao Kantasīlo (1859–1942) and Venerable Luang Pu Mun Bhuridatto (1870–1949). It has since been firmly established in Thai society and continues at present. Since Buddhism is the most influential religion and faith among lay people in Thailand, Thai Forest Meditation steadily grows deeper and increasingly draws attention from westerners.
We are pleased to welcome Umawan Ruyaporn from the International College Thonburi Rajabhat University and the Department of Thai Language at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University who will speak about this topic.
The lecture will be held in English and can be attended via Zoom. For the link and more information, kindly refer to our Flyer (PDF).
We would like to thank the Hamburg Society for Thai Studies for the cooperation.
