8th Shanghai Hamburg Forum successfully concluded

The 8th Shanghai Hamburg Forum on „Education” has successfully concluded on Saturday, 26 October 2019.
The Shanghai Hamburg Forum is co-organized by the Chinese Department of the University of Hamburg and the International Center for Studies of Chinese Civilization of Fudan University (Shanghai) and strives to promote intellectual exchange of German and Chinese scholars of the humanities.
On Friday, 25 October 2019, a series of lectures (program overview), attended by students, scholars, and members of the Hamburger Sinologische Gesellschaft e.V., shed light on different aspects of the history and practice of education in Europe and China, with presentations by Cao Nanping, Wang Weijiang, Jiang Linjing, Li Hongtu (all from Fudan University), Zhang Xupeng (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing), Giovanni Vitiello (University of Naples, Italy), Birte Klemm (independent China analyst, Berlin), Jürgen Overhoff (University of Münster), Silke Schreiber-Barsch, and Karin Reich (both Universität Hamburg). The Forum was opened by Michael Friedrich, Professor of Sinology at Universität Hamburg, and the leader of the Chinese delegation, Prof. Jin Guangyao from Fudan University; both are founders of the Shanghai Hamburg Forum.
On Saturday, the guests from China and Europe were introduced to the history of Universität Hamburg with a lecture and campus tour by Eckart Krause, formerly professor at the Center for the History of Universität Hamburg.
