Knowledge Exchange Lunch: The manuscript patrimony of the crisis region Tigray
30 June 2026
On 30 June 2026, during Hamburg Sustainability Week, UHH Knowledge Transfer Fund Projects organize a Knowledge Exchange Lunch at HADLEY'S Bar Hamburg, Beim Schlump 84a, 20144 Hamburg.
The event showcases results from currently funded knowledge transfer projects. Under the motto "Triple Transformation: Digital, Sustainable, Open!", these initiatives pursue the goal of a "Twin Transformation": leveraging digital technologies and data to advance sustainability objectives while simultaneously ensuring that technologies, datasets, and social infrastructures are designed sustainably. The projects rely on co-creation and co-innovation with partners from civil society, the business sector, and public administration. The scope ranges from approaches in the humanities and social sciences to the natural sciences; at the heart of it all is the collaboration between academia and societal stakeholders in addressing current societal challenges.
In the call 2025/26 two projects related to Ethiopia were supported by the Transfer Agency of the University: "The manuscript patrimony of the crisis region Tigray (northern Ethiopia): safeguarding through digitization" (led by Dr Denis Nosnitsin, HLCEES) and "Empowering Women and Girls with Disabilities in Ethiopia: Advancing Inclusive Education through Technology & Epistemic Justice" (led by Prof. Larissa Gebken).
