Orientalia Biblica et Christiana
The series ORIENTALIA BIBLICA ET CHRISTIANA (=OBC) was launched by Ekkart Otto and Siegbert Uhlig in 1991 and is primarily dedicated to the topics of Biblical and Christian Orient, with an interdisciplinary dimension. It was originally published by the J.J. Augustin publishing house and was later moved to the Harrassowitz Verlag. In 2009 Alessandro Bausi became a third co-editor of the series.
So far 18 volumes have appeared, with the contributions from history, culture, religions, legal history, philologies, archaeology as well as Christian customs and literatures of Near East from Armenia to Ethiopia, from pre-Biblical times until modernity (cp. the Editor's Forword in vol. 1, July 1991).
