Seminars on the Philippines
Seminars on the Philippines are offered every semester, often with a transregional and comparative approach within Southeast Asia, such as "Domination and revolutions in insular Southeast Asia", "Forestry and plantations in Southeast Asia", and "(Southeast) Asian-German, what's in a name?"
The research-based "Austronesian Research Seminar" is offered for advanced BA and MA students with a new topic every semester. It alternates reading and discussion of important texts and lectures by specialists. It is a space of exchange for graduate students, junior, and confirmed researchers working on the Austronesian speaking world and adopting a broad regional and/or temporal perspective when considering ancient and contemporary socio-cultural phenomena.
