Study plan - Studiengangsstruktur (PDF)
The 2-year MA programme 'Manuscript Cultures' (120 CP) is offered at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures. It is taught by a broad range of faculty across the humanities, natural and computer sciences. The program covers a broad spectrum of manuscript cultures, particularly in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Students will learn about key topics and methods in the research of manuscripts and other written artefacts and acquire the skills necessary to conduct their own, independent research of written artefacts and their contents (texts, images, notes, diagrams etc.). Combining perspectives of cultural studies and history with the scientific analysis of manuscript materials and the latest approaches from computer sciences, the program fosters the development of creative approaches to address complex cultural-historical and scientific questions.
