"Thai III" language course
Thai III
- 2 semesters (courses III-A and III-B)
- 6,0 credits per semester
- 2 SWS ("Semesterwochenstunden": hours of lessons per week)
The course "THAI III" language course consists of course III-A (in the winter semester) and III-B (in the summer semester). The prerequisite for participating in this course is the successful completion of the course "THAI II" or proof of appropriate language skills.
This course meets once a week for 2x45 minutes. It is highly recommended that the students meet regularly with a Thai native speaker and communicate actively with him/her both verbally and in writing. Thus, participation in the Thai Tandem Project is also very much advised.
Various news and documentaries are covered in this lecture. Idioms and colloquial language are learned. Expressing one's own opinion in discussions is practiced. Students will translate lengthy texts from Thai to German and from German to Thai.
Learning Objective: To understand news and documentaries, use idioms and colloquial language in the appropriate context, and express one's own opinion both in writing and orally.
